Alrightie. So today, i went to SGH to meet a Dr. and make an appointment for my ganglion removal surgery.
Heh. Waiting in the hospital sure takes up a lot of your time. My appointment was supposed to be at 2. Obviously, it would be later than that, and later it was. Registration itself took up over 15 minutes.
Then, the long wait for our turn to come. When it did though, we - my mother and i - walked over to room 7, to meet Dr. Alex Cheng. And the first thing he said was " My friend, Begum! "
lol. And he pronounced my name right! yay!
Haha, he was soo friendly, and sooo nice, so yea. Haha, i liked him immediately. But then, after taking a look at my left wrist, he said what we needed was a hand specialist, or, to quote him
"Pakar tangan " ^_^ So he redirected us to another clinic . . .
Compared to waiting to see Dr. Alex Cheng, waiting to meet Dr. Andrew Yam took much longer. So long, in fact, that the nurse told us to get something to eat first, while waiting, and that she'll sms us one patient beforehand.
We didn't end up eating much, for fear the nurse might forget, or that in the middle of our meal, we should receive her message and have to abandon our half-eaten food. So we went to Polar Puff and bought some stuff. But like i said, we didn't get far.
When we returned, we still had a long wait ahead of us. In the end, we were the last person, i think, to meet the doctor. Sigh. Still, patience is a virtue, or so i kept telling my mother. Funny isn't it, how i was the one who was happily smiling and humming tunes while she got increasingly frustrated. Haha, but then, anyone else would be just as annoyed i suppose, having have to wait for such a long time.
So when we met with the doctor, we talked and bladibla, so now i have my appointment to remove the ganglion, which is bothering me, and hurting me. Right this instant, it's throbbing,so yea, it hurts.
After the surgery though, if the pain persists, and it doesn't get better, the doctor might have to investigate further, he said my ligaments might be damaged, and there might be a problem with the joint. Hope it doesn't get as serious as that. I'm hoping, the operation goes smoothly, the lump is removed, the pain doesn't persist and it'll all be over soon.
So, let's keep our hopes up that all will go well next wednesday, 13/12/2006. Coz that's when my surgery's taking place. It's at 9.15 am, but i've to be there an hour early. You know it costs about $810 getting this surgery done? Not including the consultation fees from today, and the other doctor bills from my other visits to the doctor throught the year.
Thrice i went. Twice to Dr. Bok, and once to Dr. Wong. hehe
Oh well . . . when it's over, it'll be over for good right? I hope anyway. Let's all be positive and think nice, happy thoughts :D
So anyway, i am sleepy. I think i'm going out with Nailul tomorrow. I'm supposed to, but she hasn't replied my message. In anycase, i still have to wake up early ( meaning, the normal time people actually wakes up in the morning ) just in case. Coz the original plan was to meet up at 11 at Pasir Ris MRT.
Heh. Thinking about all this, i'm reminded about how worried Amal and Maryam were, when i kept insisting on going dragonboating while my wrist was hurting. If i hadn't gone, true, i wouldn't have possibly stressed my wrist further, but i'd have missed out on a wonderful experience! So, i'm glad i went. Besides, the pain subsided after a while. So no big right?
In anycase, I'm off to bed now. . .Nitez!
