Welcome
You came to me
Head upright
Back straight
Yet the shadow silhouetting
the door
Is not the genuine article
It's a beautiful doll
with broken springs
And a porcelain face
cracked in half
But held together by slivers of clay
I see unspilled tears
threatening to make little rivulets down
blushing cheeks
And the slender fingers
that tremble so slightly
And the walk that falters
It's so painful to watch
A walking time bomb
Push the red button
It's time for your self-destruction

This week nearly killed me. Not that putting the past behind you is ever facile, really. As natural as how the birds sing to the early sunrise, the people around you come and go, once in a while. They stick around to share their dreams with you, to call you in the middle of the night and let you know that we'll still be the best of friends even if one of us moves to Vancouver, to interrupt you with a frivolous suggestion on how the ideal vacation ought to be as you rant on and on about that big ass teacher who gave you a C on your report or to buy you roses on a Wednesday and present it to you right in the eyes of many.
But when it is time to take that final act, these people - they usually leave without nothing more than the utterance of your name.
Forget the play with words. We get it, your English is fantastic. more so than mine is, than mine will ever be. But just as you so cleverly said, after gracing ones life, and filling it with their presence, after a while, people tire of ones companionship, and seek out others.
Just as naturally as day falls into night, and rainclouds release torrents of rain onto the earth below, people come and go. and now's your time isn't it? you've had your stay, you've had your say, now comes the time to replace me with another.
It's the simplest thing in the world. It really is. I just wish i couldn't care less.
